Track Maintenance - Polona

Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) is undergoing track maintenance work in Polona as part of the NSW Government’s rail infrastructure program across the country rail network.

Works are being completed by TfNSW’s contractor, John Holland. John Holland operate and maintain the Country Regional Network across NSW under a ten-year contract with TfNSW.

Why is the work being completed?

The railway lines require maintenance to ensure continued safe passage of trains along the railway line and safe access for the community.

When will work commence?

Works are currently scheduled to take place from Thursday 5 September to Tuesday 10 September 2019, subject to final approvals and weather conditions.

Site operations will run as follows:

  • Thursday 5 September and Friday 6 September: 6:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Saturday 7 September to Monday 9 September: 24-hour work from Saturday 6:00am to Monday 6:00pm.
  • Tuesday 10 September: 6:00am to 6:00pm.

How will I be affected?

All maintenance activity will remain within the rail corridor. There is potential for noise and dust from the work, and there may be some extra vehicle and heavy machinery movements in the area.

We will endeavour to minimise the impact to the community wherever possible, during the works period.
