About the Train Operating Conditions (TOC) Manual
The TOC Manual contains the technical requirements necessary for the safe and efficient operation of rolling stock on the NSW Country Regional Network (CRN). The instructions and technical information contained in the Manual shall be read in conjunction with the relevant Working timetable applicable to the CRN and applies to all freight, passenger and infrastructure maintenance operations occurring on the CRN. The document, when complete, will encompass the following information:
- General Instruction Pages
- Northern CRN Section Pages and Track Diagrams
- Southern CRN Section Pages and Track Diagrams
- Western CRN Section Pages and Track Diagrams
The TOC Manual is issued for the use of train planners, train timetablers, train control personnel and train crews, and shall be read in conjunction with the relevant Safe Working Manuals, which it is intended to supplement, but in no way supersede.
The TOC Manual is subject to strict document control. The control document/s will be issued electronically via this site. It is the responsibility of users of this document to ensure that they are referencing the current version and any printed copies will become uncontrolled copies. As a living document the Manual will be continually subject to change therefore, individual sections may be amended and reissued separately. Amended sections will increase the overall document version number by 0.1 (e.g. 1.1 to 1.2). A control sheet in the front of each section in the Manual will identify the version of that section and summarise the changes made. Each time this document is reissued in total, it will receive a new version number. Version numbers are full numbers (e.g. 1.0, 2.0 etc).
